On May 4, Metro Rotary, working again with the VA Hospital, put together goodie bags to hand out to veterans coming to the hospital that day. It was very well received, and all bags were given out in about 20 minutes.
On May Fourth two of our members, Jen Dresser and Brandon Hensley, handed out goodie bags Metro members and guests put together. We decorated the bags with Star Wars stickers and the words 'May The Fourth Be With You' and stuffed them with shampoo, hair brushes, socks and adult coloring pages of Star Wars characters and scenes along with coloring pencils and sharpeners. We sent 100 bags in all to the hospital lobby. We had a great time and a lot of fun putting it all together.
A big Thank You Tina for getting the Veterans Memorial Visitors Center for us to use and suppling the stickers, coloring pages, pencils and sharpeners. Coffee and bagels were provided by Vicki. Other members that morning were Alex, Ginger, Kit, Jennifer. Guests included Bonnie, Brian, Angela, Ashley and Robert, Carol and Mike. And then 2 out of this world characters showed up for pictures and coffee!
Also donated were adult coloring books, pencils, word search books, for Waiting and Recreation Rooms. Brandon and Nola Hensley donated a Blu Ray player for the Rec Room and the club supplied 4 Star Wars movies.
